Although its a bit too formal, features I like about this room are the clean, neutral color palette, the mix of comfortable seating furniture with a few choice antiques, and the curtain-less windows with interior shutters. I would replace the carpet with a rough sisal. Country or more rustic antiques should replace the high-style Chippendale and Federal pieces.

This is a good model for the bedroom. Bright walls with John's four-poster bed and a few choice antiques to warm up the room. I like the carpet for a bedroom.
